The first Beijing Ceramic Artists Exhibition was grandly opened on May 11 at the Beijing Guaozhong Ceramic Art Museum

At 2 pm on May 11, 2019, in order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, according to the Beijing Ceramic Art Promotion and Development Program, we consciously assume the mission of raising the flag, gathering people’s hearts, cultivating newcomers, invigorating culture, and exhibiting images. The mission is to tell the story of Beijing ceramic artists with heart and soul, and to spread the original intention of Beijing ceramic artists. The opening ceremony of the "First Beijing Ceramic Artists Exhibition" hosted by the Beijing Arts and Crafts Industry Association and the "Revital and Development of Beijing Ceramic Art" The themed seminar was held in Beijing Dongsishitiao 100 Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum. Specially invited and participating authors are mainly from Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing City University and Beijing Arts and Crafts Industry Association. This "Work Exhibition" brings together 142 sets of works by 46 ceramic artists, covering the old generation of famous ceramic artists and middle-aged and young ceramic artists in Beijing, which is the strongest lineup in history. The exhibition concentratedly reflects the creative dynamics of Beijing ceramic artists, reflecting the transformation of their expression form, the breakthrough of material application, the renewal of craftsmanship, the uniqueness and diversity of artistic style; their works have deep national cultural connotation and distinctive The regional characteristics and strong atmosphere of the times explored and revealed the art of "earth and fire" from different aspects, showing people the creative wisdom and aesthetic exploration and pursuit of Beijing ceramic artists.

Many industry experts, leaders, and specially invited and participating artists gathered in the National Ceramic Art Museum to communicate with each other enthusiastically and discuss their artistic concepts together. Important leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony include: Mr. Yang Zhiming, special researcher of the Counsel’s Office of the State Council, former deputy secretary of the party group and deputy minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security; Mr. Yang Zipeng, former vice president of China National Light Industry Council; Executive Committee of China Arts and Crafts Association Mr. Zhou Zhengsheng, Chang; Mr. Ma Pei, Executive Vice President of China Arts and Crafts Association; Mr. Liu Lin, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Beijing City University; Mr. Guo Ming, Former Chief Technologist of Beijing Gongmei Group and Vice President of China Arts and Crafts Association; Mr. Zhang Shouzhi, Director of Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum, etc. In addition, more than 20 participating artists, 16 news media including CCTV, People's Daily Online, Tencent Video, and more than a dozen heads of branches of Beijing Gongmei Group attended the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhang Shouzhi, the curator of the Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum, said in his speech: I am very pleased to welcome everyone on behalf of the Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum. It is also a great honor for our museum to have the opportunity to bring together ceramic artists from Beijing to welcome The 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up held such a first exhibition. Behind the works of these specially invited and participating artists is a story of struggling for the restoration and innovation of ceramics in the new China. Our Beijing Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum is to provide such a platform for everyone to communicate fully and to inherit the ceramics industry of the motherland Pave the way for development. I also hope that in the future, we will have more extensive cooperation with Beijing and even the national industry and art associations.

As the leader of the organizer, director of the Ceramic Zisha Professional Committee of Beijing Arts and Crafts Industry Association, and the curator of this exhibition, Mr. Chen Liehan gave a detailed introduction to the preparation of the exhibition, and especially thanked the sponsors for their support. Speaking of the original intention of the exhibition planning, he mentioned: The 46 ceramic artists participating in this exhibition have rich practical experience in ceramic art creation. They have profound knowledge, superb skills, unique style, and superb artistic accomplishment and expression techniques. Innovation. The exhibition, exchange and publication of outstanding works by 46 ceramic artists is believed to bring beautiful enjoyment to the audience and readers.

The leader of the organizer, the former chief technologist of Beijing Gongmei Group and the executive director of Beijing Gongmei Group, said: “This exhibition is the first time that Beijing arts and crafts industry has hosted such a large-scale professional ceramic exhibition. As a gift from Beijing's arts and crafts industry to the 70th anniversary of the motherland. The exhibition brings together the latest works of the three generations of ceramic artists in Beijing in recent years, and also conveys that the participating artists have brought the ancient ceramic art to life and internationalization. The youthful development direction reflects the booming development of Beijing contemporary ceramic art in recent years. As the organizer, I sincerely hope that the Beijing Ceramic Artists Exhibition will continue to hold the second and third editions after the first one. The leader of the instructor and the executive chairman of the China Arts and Crafts Association, Mr. Zhou Zhengsheng, used four "mosts" in his speech to summarize the exhibition. He said: "This exhibition is the most powerful and exhibiting artist in the Beijing ceramic art industry. The works have the highest artistic level, the richest variety, and the most unique professionalism. I believe this will greatly promote the development of Beijing ceramic art in the future. It will definitely be icing on the cake, adding luster to the cake, and living up to expectations. In order to strengthen the promotion of Beijing ceramic artists and promote the development of Beijing ceramic art, as one of the organizers of this exhibition, Beijing Arts and Crafts Publishing House also specially compiled all the works exhibited in this exhibition into a book, edited and published "Beijing Contemporary Ceramic Art—" Collection of the First Beijing Ceramic Artists Exhibition. During the opening ceremony, the first release ceremony of the collection was held. Mr. Chen Gaochao, the president and editor-in-chief of Beijing Arts and Crafts Publishing House, and the exhibition director, Mr. Ma Pei, the executive vice chairman of the China Arts and Crafts Association, jointly unveiled the collection and presented a book to the artist representative teacher Pang Yuan.

Mr. Qiu gengyu, associate professor of the Academy of fine arts of Tsinghua University and deputy director of ceramic art center of China Ceramic Industry Association, and Mr. Xu chuze, a master of Arts and crafts in Beijing, delivered speeches as representatives of specially invited artists and representatives of participating artists respectively, wishing the exhibition a success. Mr. Qiu gengyu also expressed his unique views on this exhibition: "the ceramic materials used by each author are ceramic materials, and they use ceramic technology to express their own artistic ideas. Although they are all ceramics, everyone's formal style is different. Therefore, I think" diversification "may be the most important feature of this exhibition."

Speech by Mr. Xu chuze, Beijing Arts and Crafts Master 

At the end of the opening ceremony, Mr. Yang Zhiming, a special researcher in the counsellor's office of the State Council and former deputy secretary of the Party group and vice minister of the Ministry of human resources and social security, announced the opening of the exhibition. His classic sentence "masters have great works, which is common sense; masters have masters, this is social responsibility", which pushed the atmosphere of the scene to a climax, so that the participants were encouraged.

After the opening ceremony of the exhibition, experts in Beijing held a seminar on the theme of "revitalization and development of Beijing ceramic art". Experts actively offer advice and suggestions, and the common goal and vision is that arts and crafts related colleges and enterprises can give full play to the role of mentoring, continue to do a good job in the inheritance and innovation of ceramic art, and lead Beijing ceramic art to a broader field!
