Beijing successfully won the Winter Olympic Games bid on July 1st, 2015. 3 years later, a ceramic artist from Yixing representing China goes to Lausanne, the headquarter of international Olympic Committee, to hold a winter games ceramic art exhibition.

This Chinese artist is Lv Junjie, a ceramic artist from Yixing. He attracts many journalists’ attention in Lausanne.

Lv Junjie’s ceramic exhibition, with the theme of Winter Olympic Games, opened on the 31st of July in Olympic museum in Lausanne. To celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Beijing’s successful winter games bid, Lv Junjie aims to promote Olympic spirit and five rings & five colors for Bejing Winter Olympic games through Chinese ceramic art. This is also the first time for Chinese ceramic artists to hold winter games ceramic exhibition in Olympic museum.

This exhibition has 14 ceramic works created by Lv Junjie. Some of them are related to Winter Olympic games such as “curling teapot”, “short track speed skating teapot”, “skiing teapot” and so on. Aside from those, there are also some works presenting the theme of time and traditional Chinese connotation such as “colorful clouds chasing the moon”, “the belt and road”, etc. This exhibition will last for 20 days.

Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee, attended the opening ceremony of this exhibition. In his speech, he said this exhibition was an excellent example of a fact that the common feature of sport and art is chasing extremity. He said Beijing Winter Olympic Games would be another good chance for China to show its splendid culture to the world after the successful Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. Bach believed that Beijing can hold the Winter Olympic Games successfully.
