Exhibits from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute Stole Limelight on the 23rd International Heritage Fair

NEWS (Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges): On November 2, the 23th International Heritage Fair opened at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris with 350 exhibition booths in total, which attracted more than tens of thousands of specialists and artists in fields like heritage restoration, protection, and inheritance from more than 40 countries all around the world. The Culture Minister Françoise Nyssen, President of France Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron together with the First Lady Brigitte attended the opening ceremony. Attracted by the great charm and influence of the fair, there was a crowd of spectators in the exhibition hall.

 

In particular, lots of European artists and art lovers clustered at the spacious and bright pavilion of Jingdezhen Ceramic Instituted, they appreciated the exhibits and raised questions, showed affection and strong interest in Chinese ceramic art.

 

One of the spectators, famous French artist, art movement and art critic, Aude de Kerros, who is currently serving as the vice president of Académie Franco-chinoise D''art et de Culture and was awarded the Chevalier de l''Ordre National du Mérite admired the works with surprise. She said, “These amazing exhibits subverted my previous understanding on Chinese ceramic art, everyone in the world would love them.”

 

Japanese plasticine Tetsuo Harada based in France came to the pavilion of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, expressed his wish for studying materials of applied ceramics as well as exchanging artistic ideas and creating artworks in Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute. In addition, other spectators on the fair also consulted on matters about short-term study in this Institute.

 

The newly elected chairman of French National Arts Association Aude Tahon admired and affirmed Chinese artists while appreciating exhibits of the Institute.

 

Staff of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute truly felt that France, as the cultural and art center in Europe, enjoys an excellent artistic atmosphere, passion and admiration for art are integral part of local people’s life, and it is of significant importance for the Institute to have its influence rooted in this land in terms of international exchanges. Spreading Jingdezhen’s ceramic art, telling stories of Chinese ceramics, and searching for connections and cooperation with French mainstream media and specialists will be a momentous new path, and will be a shortcut requiring our contemplation and exploration.
