Ceramic Artist

I have been working in clay for over 25 years. I am fascinated by form and texture and I focus on sculptural work using porcelain and stoneware clays.

I have a Bachelor of Art in Ceramic Design, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Visual  Art  (sculpture) and I am a member of the Unesco International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) . I have exhibited my work and attended ceramic symposiums in France, China, Japan, India, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia and Italy.

I was awarded the 'Lorenzo il Magnifico' (first place) award for ceramics at the 2015 Florence Biennale in Italy.  I also received an honourable mention for Ceramics at the 2013 Cheongju International Biennale in South Korea.

I am interested in human nature and my current work explores the idea of facades and the way our outer self is used to ensure belonging. These aspects of human nature manifest themselves in my work as spikes, spots, carving and heavy texture.
