Zheng Ning

PhD in Arts, Professor, and PhD Supervisor

In 1958, he was born in Yinchuan.

In 1977, he entered Central Academy of Art and Design.

In 1982, he graduated and served in Central Academy of Art and Design as a teacher.

In 1986, he became a lecturer.

In 1993, he became a guest researcher at Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan.

In 1993, he became an associate professor.

In 1999, he served as deputy director of Department of Ceramic Design, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University.

In 2004, he became a professor.

In 2006, he became head of Department of Ceramic Design, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University.

In 2007, he obtained PhD degree from Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University.

Judge at the Eleventh National Exhibition of Fine Arts

 

Research Interest:

Theory and Practice of Chinese Traditional Ceramic Art

 

Academic Proposition:

My world belongs to the tradition. I teach Traditional Ceramics, and I believe that true beauty comes when it’s stimulated naturally, when dealing with the people, and when making a friend in our daily life. I hope that my words carry traditional thoughts, contemporary sense, and a natural and simple emotion. I hope that my words can be understood by the public, used by them and become their friends.
