Preface

China is the earliest country in the world to invent porcelain. In history, China's ceramic manufacturing has had an important influence on the development of ceramics in the world, and has made positive contributions. As the carrier of utensils, ceramics has played an important role in human life since the day it was produced. The device is also useful. Li Yu, a well-known opera theorist in the early Qing Dynasty, pointed out in "Xianqing Ou Ji": "One thing needs one thing, and one thing prepares one thing for use." Ceramics are rooted in the need for one thing, one thing for use. Daily life.

As the name suggests, daily-use ceramics are ceramics used in daily life. No matter how the society develops and the times progress, daily-use ceramics always serve human life with practical character.

With the continuous acceleration of the internationalization of my country's ceramic enterprises in recent years and the continuous improvement of the technological level of products, the brand building of ceramic enterprises is becoming increasingly urgent. As my country’s daily-use ceramics production has been under the guidance of the planned economy for a long time, it lacks market awareness, brand concepts, and communication with international counterparts. Therefore, it lags behind developed countries in production technology, market management and design concepts. . As far as the production of daily-use ceramics is concerned, we are still a large ceramic production country, not a ceramic powerhouse. Therefore, the revitalization of my country's daily-use ceramics business has been put on a new agenda, and it is also the responsibility and mission of contemporary ceramics.

Based on this responsibility and mission, Jingdezhen Ceramics University applied to the National Art Fund for the Youth Talent Training Project "Daily Use Ceramic Design Innovative Young Talent Training" in 2015, and received funding from the National Art Fund. "Cultivation of Innovative Young Talents for Daily Use Ceramics Design" aims to train young designers with thought and responsibility in the field of my country's daily use ceramics design. Since the start of the project, it has received strong support from all walks of life, and students have been very enthusiastic in registering.

During the project development process, we hired relevant experts and scholars at home and abroad to give lectures to the trainees and impart the latest design concepts and ideas. Try to fundamentally enhance the students' awareness of design innovation and broaden their design horizons. The 50 students have always had a strong desire for knowledge throughout the learning process, full of passion for learning, overcome numerous difficulties, and successfully completed the relevant learning tasks stipulated by the project.

What this exhibition presents is the design results of 50 trainees. From these exhibited works, we can clearly feel the students' understanding of daily utensils and their perception of innovative design. With the rapid development of science and technology and the endless changes in life, the only thing that remains unchanged is the pursuit of a better life. The touch of life is the designer's enjoyment of beauty and the truest care for the public through design.

This exhibition is just an introduction. The improvement of the design level of my country's daily ceramics requires everyone's joint efforts.

I wish the exhibition a success!
