Chen Qi works

    Artist Biography

    Chen Qi, born in 1955. In 1981, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, formerly {Ceramic Art Department of Central Academy of Arts and Crafts}. After graduation, he has been assigned to teach at Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. Professor, master tutor, member of the Ceramic Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, director of the Ceramic Art Committee of the Shaanxi Artists Association, and judge of the Ceramic Art Exhibition of the 12th National Art Exhibition. In 2003, the ceramic works were presented by the Shaanxi Provincial Government as a state guest gift to the visiting German President Johannes Law Youlau’s collection. In 2004, his work "Blue and White Group" won the 10th National Art Exhibition (Silver Award) organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Artists Association, and more than ten other national awards. In 2005, eight pottery works were printed as stamps by the State Post. 5 monographs have been published by Higher Education Press, more than 30 professional papers and hundreds of works have been published. In 2013, he won the "China Ceramic Art and Design Education Outstanding Contribution Award" issued by the China National Light Industry Council and China Ceramic Industry Association in the Great Hall of the People. In 2015, the ceramic work "Niaoyuhuaxiang" was collected by the National Academy of Painting of China.
