Artist Biography

Zhu Legeng
Born in 1952, Dean, professor, and doctoral supervisor of the Art Creation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Arts, the former vice chairman of the Chinese Arts and Crafts Society, a master of Chinese ceramic art, a member of the 11th, 12th and 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, enjoys the benefit of the State Council Special government allowance expert.
He has participated in contemporary ceramic art exhibitions at home and abroad for many times, and has won more than 40 works. In 2012, he won the "Material Cultural Heritage Award" of the Ministry of Culture and the "Chinese Art and Literature Award" of the Chinese Academy of Arts in 2013. He has held personal ceramic art exhibitions in Singapore, South Korea, the United States, France, Germany and other countries, as well as Hong Kong, China and other regions. Over the years, efforts have been made to promote the creation of contemporary ceramic art with Chinese philosophical connotations, especially in the creation of contemporary environmental ceramics. Many of his large pottery works have been designed in important buildings and public spaces in cities such as Seoul, Jeju Island in South Korea, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Jiujiang in China, and have become one of the important cultural landscapes of the city.
