Artist Biography

Zhong Liansheng
Born in October 1944 in Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, he is the dean of Beijing Zhong Liansheng Ceramic Art Research Institute and professor of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute.
Has long been engaged in the teaching and creation of ceramic art, Chinese painting, and sketching. From the early 1960s to the early 1980s, he created a large number of comic strips. In 1987, he and Zhou Sicong and other 12 Beijing painters held the "Mainland Modern Ink Painting Exploration Exhibition" in Taiwan and published an album. In 1989, he held a solo exhibition at the Far East Gallery in the United States. From 1994 to 1995, he taught, created and exchanged culture in Japan as a visiting scholar for one year. From 1996 to 1997, he created the large-scale mural "Beijing Jiuqing" for the Jiangxi Hall of the Great Hall of the People, and wrote the preface for the ceramic volume three of "The Complete Works of Modern Chinese Art". In 1999, he wrote a long review for the large-scale picture album "Eight Friends of Zhushan". His works have participated in contemporary Chinese ceramic art auctions for many times.
