Hu Meisheng

Artist Biography

Born in December 1933, a native of Suzhou, Anhui. From 1956 to 1961, he studied in the Ceramic Art Department of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. In 1961, he graduated and taught at the school. He is currently a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University and a member of the Chinese Artists Association.
He has been taught by masters such as Zhu Danian, Zheng Ke, Mei Jianying, Zheng Naiheng in ceramics, and has been taught by Tian Shiguang, Yu Zhizhen, Li Kuchan, Zhang Ding, and Sun Qizhang in Chinese painting, so he is a professional teaching and academic Research has laid a solid foundation.
Hu Meisheng's artistic creation is serious and conscientious, and his works are close to life and rich in national artistic characteristics. His ceramic art works "Cold Forest Cry" and "Sky Bamboo" were collected by the National Museum, and "Winter Morning" was collected by the China Art Museum.
