          Artist Biography

          Zhang Zijun, named "Lu Jun Zhang", was born in Shenge Town, Yuzhou City. Born in a ceramic family in 1953. Senior craftsman, Chinese traditional craftsman, Henan Province Arts and Crafts Master, Member of China Arts and Crafts Association, Member of China Folk Artists Association, Vice Chairman of Henan Ceramic Art Committee, Visiting Professor of Henan Vocational College of Economics and Trade.

          Distinguished artist of the Ceramic Collection Committee of the China Collectors Association, the first batch of selected masters by the China Jun Porcelain Creation Center. Superb skills.

          Main resume

          In 1966, he studied art under the tutelage of the old Jun porcelain artist Wang Fengxi (also known as Wang Xiwa); in 1974, he studied Jun porcelain craftsmanship, glaze and firing under the tutelage of famous Jun porcelain artists, Kong Tieshan, Lu Zhengxing, and Ren Jian; in 1976, followed Professor Wang Zhijiang, Wang Maikang, Yin Deming, Wang Jiabin and other professors of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts studied sculpture and modeling design; in 1978, studied ceramic craft modeling design in the advanced research class of Central Academy of Art and Design, under the tutelage of Mei Jianying, Gaozhuang, Han Wen, etc. Professor; In 1981, he served as the leader of the experimental team of Dongfeng Arts and Crafts Porcelain Factory in Shenge Town, and the deputy technical director of Shengli Porcelain Factory; in 1985, the Henan Arts and Crafts Industry Association was established as a director and expert judge; in 2000, he founded Lu Jun Zhang studio.

          Artistic characteristics:

          Zhang Zijun inherited Lu Zhengxing, the fourth-generation heir of Lu Jun, and devoted himself to the firing, inheritance and innovation of Lu Jun. He used rising flame kilns, wooden bellows to incite the fire, and charcoal burning. One furnace and one tool, unique firing techniques, The difficulty is great. This skill is an important folk cultural relic in Henan Province. Zhang Zijun continued this traditional and ancient folk craftsmanship, and adopted the apprenticeship, which has a profound influence on the inheritance and development of Jun porcelain.

          Zhang Zijun's Jun porcelain works rarely have bright red and purple colors, and they are full of gentleness and simplicity in the thick. The unique use of glaze color has always been a feature that Zhang Zijun is proud of. In terms of styling, he has always insisted on the beauty of simplicity, and strives to conform to the golden ratio of shapes, lines and curves. He has mastered dozens of unique formulas, the glaze color is changeable, and the aesthetic of modern art design.

          The Venus Celestial Eye glaze porcelain he burned is mainly black in background, silky strands, golden spots like stars scattered on the night, and golden chrysanthemum stone, dignified and dazzling.

          art achievement:

          In 1979, the "Turtle Stationery" made of Jun porcelain won the Henan Province Arts and Crafts Tourism Souvenir Excellence Award. In 1980, the three sculptures "Eagle, Rooster and Monkey" designed and produced won the Excellence Award in the Small Sculpture Exhibition held by the Henan Provincial Art Museum. In 1981, he participated in the formulation of China's first Jun porcelain art quality standard; in 1984, Jun porcelain "Sheep Head Vase" participated in the production and firing won the third place in the Jun porcelain competition of the Ministry of Light Industry. In 1985, the Jun porcelain "Double Crane Vase", which he participated in the production and firing, won the gold medal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries. In 2000, the trial production of "Kiln into Venus Tianmu Glaze" was successfully trial-produced and obtained the appearance patent. Related papers won the second prize of Henan Province, and published in Henan Province Arts and Crafts professional journals, works won the Henan Province Golden Tripod Award, China's first Four Treasures of the Study Award. In 2004, the innovatively designed and produced "Yuxiang Welcomes the Olympics", which combined the three famous Song Dynasty porcelain glazes "Jun, Ru, and Guan" in Henan Province, won the Henan Province Golden Tripod Award and the China International Civil Fair. In December 2006, he was named as the first outstanding inheritor of folk culture in Henan Province by the Propaganda Department of Henan Provincial Party Committee and Henan Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In 2013, the "Kiln Turned into Venus Celestial Eye Glaze-Central Plains Pot Series" won the gold medal in the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In May 2016, it was awarded the "Henan Provincial Traditional Craft Outstanding Contribution Award" by the Henan Provincial Department of Culture, Education Department, Communications Administration, and Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League. In November 2016, he won the highest honor award of China's folk cultural relics (Henan region) inheritance award.
