Artist's Work

Shell#4

    Work introduction

First of all, I'm a potter. This means that in my works I prefer to use the unique properties of clay. In objects, I continue the image of a vase as an image of a fruit or a shell. In them, it is easy to detect the outer and inner surface and their differences, as in any vase. Work on the vase is completed when the fruit is ripe.

Any fruit has a heart, this is its content. The interlacing of fibers, which originate in the heart of the fetus, creates an outer surface shell that protects its seeds.

These images inspire me, as in the art of pottery and in sculpture.

The series “Shell” examines dead fruit. This is the fruit that the seeds have left. In the structure of the shell you can find traces of life. After all, even if the object is dead, its creator is Life.

The task to connect the internal and external structure of the object has many solutions, and this is a huge creative potential. The path from the heart of the fetus to its outer surface has no algorithm and is essentially an object. The beginning and the end of this path create the architecture of the opposite surfaces.

It is a great honor for me to be a member of the IAC, but I have the only goal - to represent the ceramic art of Ukraine for the formation of the international cultural image of my homeland.
