    Artist Biography

    Born in Korea, Myung-joo Kim earned her B.F.A degree from Hong-ik University College of Fine
    Art in Seoul and a Master’s degree from L’Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Visuels de La
    Cambre in Brussels, Belgium. Her art was first exhibited in Paris (2004), gaining swift
    international recognition. Numerous galleries in France, Japan, Switzerland, Belgium, Finland,
    and Korea, have presented her work. Myung-joo’s art is owned by the Musée Ariana in
    Switzerland, the Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Japan, the Arctic Ceramic Center in
    Finland, and La Cambre in Belgium. She is the winner of multiple awards, including Ceramic 14,
    the jury award from Ceramic Salon of Contemporary Art (Paris 2014) and the Prix Ariana
    (Geneva, 2013). Myung-joo was featured repeatedly in Revue de la Céramique et du Verre and
    Atelier d’Art de France. Recently, her art was also highlighted in Monthly Ceramic Art in Korea
    (2018).
    Straddling between two ateliers in Korea and France, Myung-joo is an avid exhibitor, while
    teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in Korea.
